Subscriptions

What is the cost?
We offer two rates for standard subscriptions:
• 30 days: $15
• One year: As a get-acquainted offer for a limited time only, subscribe for $75, a 20% discount off the standard $95 rate.

How do I renew my subscription?
If you have previously registered on the site, and your subscription or free trial has expired, you can renew your subscription by signing in with your email address and password, and clicking the “Renew Subscription” button located on the “Your Account” screen.

Do you offer discounts for clergy?
Yes. Members of the clergy can obtain discounted subscriptions by choosing “Clergy” as the User Type when registering, then entering the name of their church in the “Institution” field. Discounted clergy rates:
• 30 days for $10
• One year for $75

Do you offer discounts for classroom use?
Yes. Professors who teach college-level courses using the Contexticon may request an Academic Course Discount code. This will allow their students to purchase subscriptions at a discounted rate. We offer two discount levels:
• a $35 per student level, for substantial use across school term
• a $25 per student level, for limited/occasional reference

Subscriptions purchased using an academic course discount will start and end on the “course start and end dates” specified by the professor when requesting the code. Professors whose discount requests are approved will also receive free individual 1-year subscriptions for themselves.

What is meant by “Substantial use across school term” and “Limited/occasional reference”?
The term “Substantial” indicates repeated use for language work or exegesis over the course of the semester, or use for two or more assignments that require concentrated research by students. The term “Limited/occasional” indicates use for one or two modest assignments, or occasional light reference across the course of the semester.

How do I obtain an Academic Course Discount?
An instructor planning to teach a course that uses the Contexticon needs to submit the “Academic Course Discount Request” form requesting a discount code for students. This form is available during initial registration as well as from the “Your Account” page. Please note: your “User Type” must be set to “Professor” in order to access this form. This setting can be changed under “Edit Profile,” accessible from the “Your Account” page. After submitting the form, your request will be reviewed by the New Testament Language Project. If approved, you will receive an email containing the discount code, to be distributed to your students.

How do my students redeem their discount codes?
If your discount code request is approved, you will receive an email containing a discount code to distribute to your students. Your students should then register individually for accounts at www.Contexticon.com, and enter the discount code at the Subscription Selection step of the registration process. They will then proceed to our PayPal checkout process to purchase their subscription at the discounted price. Subscriptions purchased using an academic course discount will start and end on the course start and end dates specified by the professor when requesting the code.

Do you offer any additional discounts for academic use?
Professors teaching at institutions which can demonstrate financial hardship may be eligible for further discounts for their students. To request this option, please check the appropriate box at the end of the “Academic Course Discount Request” form, and NTLP will contact you to discuss your situation.

My department or institution would like to subsidize the cost of student subscriptions – is this possible?
If your department would like to subsidize part or all of the cost of subscriptions for students in your class, please check the appropriate box at the end of the “Academic Course Discount Request” form. NTLP will contact you to arrange for payment. Once payment is received, the per-student price associated with your discount code will be adjusted accordingly.

Do you offer institutional subscriptions?
NTLP does not currently offer Contexticon subscriptions for purchase by libraries or educational institutions. We do, however, offer discounted subscription prices for students whose professors are using the Contexticon in a class, as well as for departments or institutions that wish to subsidize the cost of student subscriptions (see above).
